John Jay Cabuay is an illustrator based in New York City, known for his distinctive, dynamic artwork that has adorned the covers of newspapers, magazines, and book jackets around the world. With an MFA in Illustration from the Fashion Institute of Technology, John’s work blends vivid storytelling with artistic mastery. His recent illustration for the picture book Dear Ruby, Hear Our Hearts by Ruby Bridges, published by Scholastic, is a testament to his ability to bring powerful narratives to life.

John Jay’s work has been showcased in prestigious collections such as the Society of Illustrators and American Illustration Annuals. In addition to his successful illustration career, he passionately teaches figure drawing at the Fashion Institute of Technology and fashion illustration at The New School, inspiring the next generation of creatives.
