ALYSSA CARSON

Astronaut Candidate and Space Advocate

Alyssa Carson was one of the first genuine Kid Astronauts. When she was 5 years old, she decided that if she could, she was going to walk on Mars. She told her father, and she began her training.

In pursuing her goal, Alyssa spoke with hundreds of thousands of students around the world. And every group, for over a decade, asked the same question: "What is the most important thing I can do to become an astronaut?"

Alyssa gave the exact same answer every time.

"Don't keep your dream a secret! Declare your goal to go to space to everyone you meet. The only surprising thing is how often the people you meet will support you, which is why it's so important to declare your goal!"
